What ScanVault does

ScanVault (web and mobile apps) lets you scan receipts, invoices, and documents. Artificial intelligence extracts details like the vendor, total, date, and category so you can organize expenses and prepare for taxes.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, name, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see your password in plain text).
• Documents you scan: the images you photograph or upload, and the details extracted from them (vendor, amounts, dates, categories, tags).
• Usage information: how many scans you've used, your subscription status, and your chosen profession profile.
• Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never store your card number.

How AI processing works

When you scan a document, its image is sent to Google's Gemini API for text extraction and categorization. Google processes the image to return the extracted data and, per their API terms, does not use API submissions to train their models. The extracted results and your original image are stored in your private vault and are only accessible to your account.

What we never do

• We never sell your data.
• We never share your documents with advertisers.
• We never access your vault contents except as needed to operate the service or with your explicit permission (for example, a support request).

Storage and security

Your data lives in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database with row-level security, meaning your records are only readable by your authenticated account. Document images are stored in a private storage bucket scoped to your user ID. All traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual documents anytime from your vault. To delete your entire account and all associated data, use Settings → Delete Account in the mobile app — deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also email us at the address below and we'll complete the deletion within 30 days.
